Rants, the message board. Links/Articles/Reviews, about resident artists. Zenopede Coelacanth Country |
Updates Welcome to dubterror.com 23:00, August 25, 2004 i've finally replaced the message board. thanks to everyone for the bitching and suggestions. i've kept a link to the old board around, so that you can read the new posts from it, if you want. i'll probably kill that off at some point, though. 19:15, April 17, 2004 thanks to lasty, we've got some old ocosi demos up here. Mothboy had this to say: ...one of which had my old walkman radio on it which i ran through delay. i dont remember any song titles...chances are they didnt have any.. i am pretty sure some of these might have even been wiped from history and from back up. some of the tracks we only had on tape aswell so it was a long time ago ... i am guessing by the tempo of the tracks that between late 97 and mid 98 these tracks were made. simple stuff , the asr-x sampler , an fx unit and a guitar and other things that came to hand. they were recorded at 'task' which was in the house paul lived in on caledonian road , north london. track 10 has one of pauls famous hard cymbal smashing beats... 21:05, February 16, 2004 OMFG, i've actually gone and updated something. i think there are a few more tracks in the z-dimension music stuff than there were 8-9 months ago... um, other than that i've had almost nothing to do with the site. hell, i've barely read the posts up til the last month or so. i guess i'm just trying to get back in some sort of groove. i think it's mostly because of moving and having a new job, and i've just really not felt completely settled down, i guess. anyway, the most relevant thing is that Matt Jeanes of Sub:Marine and Larvae fame released an album late last year, and has given me a big pile of reviews and interviews. I also added an interview with Mothboy, and i'm sure he won't mind me posting that on there, either. 22:12, June 10, 2003 finally got the links to the larvae reviews that matt posted about a month ago. cleaned out the board a bit. did a little poking around, and it looks like i have php and mysql available. not sure if i have permissions to do much with mysql, but i'm gonna try and do some stuff sometime before long with some of that stuff. i need to make some changes here, and i'm just too damned lazy to get to it. well, i guess i'm less lazy than i was a month ago, since i'm actually considering doing something about it at this point. there are two other things i want to do, and one is a little more personally urgent (getting linux talking to the audiophile sound card, so i can at least record my new records, but also so i can record / make music again, and after that i need to get ardour to work, so i can do sequencing and all...). i'm aiming at getting that done this weekend, but i guess i'll see how everything goes. i renewed the dubterror domain in early may, which means that this place has been up for 2 years, which is pretty cool. amazing that it's been on the same server for so long, after all the crap from the early days. hopefully i can keep it up and give it a bit of a facelift soon. and yet another big thank you to James for hosting this thing. 22:27, April 2, 2003 new stuff in music again. this time a full compilation album from Z-Dimension, and two new tracks from zenopede from some project he's calling The Limits Of Persuasion. um.. i guess that's all. i found the font that le peep made sometime ago, and i may actually get around to doing something with it, if i happen to remember at a convenient time. (i'm under no illusions, here) damn, you'd think i'd bother to put a link to the z-dimension stuff, wouldn't you? 23:40, March 13, 2003 Check the music section, as a few things have been added, most notably, at least one song from the zenopede remix project is new, but damned if i can't remember which one... and the stuff that i'm now hosting for zdimension. oh, and check out this new song from Horchata. hopefully i'll be updating this place a little bit more frequently in the comingweeks/months. i guess we'll see, though... 23:48, October 7, 2002 OK, so a bunch of stuff has happened, but i've been too busy doing nothing to update. maybe that will change, but i doubt it. In the meanwhile, check out all the Zenopede Remixes. Also, the new Scorn is out, so be looking for it. Oh, and Ohm Resistance has international distribution, so look for their stuff in a country near you. what a lame post. 23:29, April 30, 2002 Got an interesting article submitted that i've posted here. it's a little thing about isolationism from 94 or so. anyway, it's here. Also, since random people *cough*Rocky*cough* keep asking after it, i'll repost that. I need to work on formatting the html, which i think i'll do after posting this. It's here. 22:13, April 2, 2002 Been a while since my last update. I guess there's been stuff going on, but I just haven't bothered to say much of anything about it. I got laid off. So that's new. I'm enjoying the time off, though. but what's new with dubterror? well, not much, cause i'm such a slacker. but i FINALLY got the Aphid Tracks stuff that Simon sent encoded and posted, so you can enjoy that, at least. 10:47, January 14, 2002 added a link to Xenta in the links section. there are some windows media files of a mothboy DJ set from last week up in the Mothboy section. the quality (sound, not DJ) isn't the greatest, but he plays some good tunes. 12:47, January 7, 2002 merry new year, everyone. today i have some Mothboy tracks posted... some new and some older stuff. I have some stuff from Mr. Smerdon's other project, but i've got to do some work on it before i pass it on to you, the consumer. (unless you WANT to download a 60 megabyte mp3 file.... i thought not.) i'm thinking about adding a section here where i discuss the equipment and methods i use to record and mp3-encode music. Also, if you checked out the Abintra tracks, i've been told that they're too slow. so it may be time to come up with a good tape deck. i'll be replacing them with new copies at some point, but for now, just pretend it's faster or something. 13:40, December 28, 2001 OK... some new stuff up here today... a guy local to Cookeville, and who is also a fan of Godflesh, Autechre, etc. wanted some stuff put up here, and he's got a pretty decent album together, and i've posted his mp3s here. i don't have names for the songs yet, cause i left his tape at my apartment, but i'll have the tracknames up tonight sometime. i need to make id3s for it, too... anyway, there it is, give it a listen. in other news, happy new year. 14:09, December 17, 2001 Wow, I've got a bunch of updates today. first is GARLIC.wav's initial release, The Garlic Grower Manual For Beginners Volume 1. It's some good beats and bass stuff, and he's actually named a song after the site here (*awwww*). and the other stuff is some more mirrors for our friends over at Sub:Marine, EP3 from Underwater, and A Nice Life from Stillife;Gaijin. That's about it, but it's some pretty exciting stuff. and if i don't post another update before Christmas, I'll just go ahead and wish everyone a happy holidays and all that crud. 10:59, December 3, 2001 Here is the information page from Sub:Marine about XmasEP2 from Miles Tilmann. I think that's about it.... working on mail. 15:44, November 30, 2001 new live mp3s from miles tilmann here. There will be a link to them at Sub:Marine sometime this weekend, according to Matt. I'll post that link probably monday, if not before. 12:39, November 30, 2001 nothing amazing, just updated the link to the Mick Harris Discography. 13:13, November 19, 2001 Well, we have an addition: Videos in realmedia format from Horchata. I also have an update, since i quietly moved some stuff around, the Scorn videos from Lastmuseum.com are available here for your viewing pleasure. 12:11, November 16, 2001 OK, it's been a while since the last update, but there hasn't been a whole lot going on, so that's why. That has just changed, though, with the finally released Zenterview, which is a small interview with Dave of Zenopede. 9:16, October 8, 2001 nice... got my hednod 4 this weekend. go get it from Hushush if you don't already have your copy. only 300 pressed this time, so they'll go fast. also got Slaughterhouse Disco from Zenopede & E.Y.E. this weekend, which seems to be quite good. i need to get a couple of mp3s off of it posted. i got the Zenopede page updated with the Slaughterhouse Disco track listing. 10:32, October 3, 2001 and keeping with the new stuff coming in, i've just opened up the Zenopede page, so you can check that out, now... i've got 4 mp3s and a sorta really basic discography up there, now. we should have an exclusive interview with Zen Dave before long, as well. 10:54, October 2, 2001 well, sounds like some good stuff is making the rounds... hed nod 4 is out, mothboy's sending out raw loops 2, and sounds like he'll have 3 finished soon, and i saw today on manifold's mailing list that insecta from horchata is out (the red vinyl). Also, the new techno animal is out, the new quoit is out or will be out soon, as well as the new lull, and the new godflesh is around the corner. damn, it's time to go into debt for music again, sounds like (or more in debt, if you're already there) i've got a basic transcript of the mute magazine darkhop interviews here, it's not formatted well, but you can at least read them. 10:11, September 12, 2001 yesterday was a dark day. i had a bit of trouble sleeping last night... well... actually, i was tired, but i really didn't want to go to bed. so i watched the news channels and made a little attack ATV out of lego. 15:31, September 6, 2001 finally made some time to work on the zenopede page. it's coming along nicely, but isn't really ready for people to look at yet. i need to add a couple more mp3s, as well, but that's just me deciding what i want to put up there. 13:36, August 27, 2001 getting to work on the initial artist pages... Zenopede is going to be my guinea pig, basically because he happend to send me an email when i was considering doing it, but wasn't sure who was going to be first, and i have enough of his stuff laying around that picking songs won't be hard. 10:22, August 15, 2001 it doesn't look like i've been doing much with the pages lately, but i've been making an archive of all the links and reading them so i can pick out the ones that are doubled, etc. ah, behind the scenes stuff.... i have a sort of review of the chicago techno animal show up on godflesh.com. |
